I’ve been busy putting the final touches on the first novel in my new series called “The Shadow of All Things” (cue bongo drums) for the past two months. The series spans multiple New York Cities across interminable universes and tackles topics such as gentrification, punk rock music and really vile creatures called the “Elyuum” who move between worlds and seek to rule all existence. It’s an epic premise with a cast of characters who constantly surprise me as I write them. I can’t wait to share the book and drawings from Colleen Beauchamp Stiles (I’ve already had a first peek at some of them). The title “The Shadow of All Things” comes from Plato’s parable of “The Cave” about the nature of reality. I’ll reveal more about the series and its release soon. I also finished a pair of stories that are going to be compiled and released in the fall. The tales (one set in Texas and one in Mexico) introduces two old friends who wander into a Texas town that’s not on any map and a backpacker in Mexico who takes a bad batch of magic mushrooms and goes on the mother of all trips. The cover will be illustrated by artist Jeff Green from Dallas. In other news, “Nightfall Gardens” continues to pick up steam with some recent reviews from prominent book blogs and was the featured series on Bookscream. I’ll be announcing more information about the long-awaited “Nightfall Gardens” album soon as well. I’m super-psyched about that, but there has been a lot of details to work out so the compilation of songs is presented in the best-sounding and looking way possible. Until next time. Have a great week and stay warm!
